In February 2006, dozens of dads took to the rugby field to raise more than £500 for the appeal. The muddy fathers of Josh's team mates from the York RUFC Youth Section took part in an annual charity match against each other.

The club also held additional funraising events during 2006 including a players haircut. The total raised by the club over the year is in excess of £1,000 - well done and thank you!!

Josh is also remembered by the club with the Joshua Scarlett-Abbott Memorial trophy which is presented every year to the player who showed courage, character, leadership and teamwork throughout the season.
