A 'Mega-Quiz' in Norton raised a staggering £1,040 towards the Joshua Scarlett Abbott ECMO Ambulance Appeal.

Quiz master, Malton's answer to Chris Tarrant, Mike Williams said it was one of the highest amounts he had ever raised from a quiz night.

He felt that Josh's story had really touched the hearts of people on the 52 teams that attended and encouraged them to be particularly generous on the night.

Triumphant were 'Next Generation' team from Norton and Joshua's mum, Fiona Scarlett presented prizes of wine and champagne to the top ten teams.

Many thanks to everyone who helped make the night so successful, especially bar supremo Louise Summers! Parents and friends from Langton School and Westow acted as bar and waiting staff and worked incredibly hard to make sandwiches for 250! (Not to mention washing up!)
