BT RAISE £830.00 - a small group within BT in Leeds, have raised £830.00 for the Appeal, following quizzes, theme days, raffles and tombola's.
Angela Linnie, one of the fund raisers said "We were all deeply touched by Joshua's story and certainly feel that he was a very brave little boy and its so sad that we have to lose someone so special".

MERCEDES-BENZ YORK OFFER AMBULANCE AT COST! - Richard Jackson MBE, Chairman of Mercedes-Benz York, has made the fantastic offer of supplying a Mercedes-Benz vehicle for the ambulance, on a non-profit basis.
Mercedes-Benz York have also undertaken to convert the vehicle to a Paediatric ECMO Ambulance on a similar basis.
This is a very generous offer and was further increased by the donation of prizes by Mr Jackson, at the 2003 Golf Day.

AQUAPOINT has agreed to adopt the Joshua Scarlett-Abbott ECMO Appeal as its designated charity for 2004.
Bob Proctor, of Aquapoint said "Aquapoint are delighted to help raise funds for Joshua's Appeal. As a father, I can only wonder at the pain and suffering which sick children, like Josh, and their families must go through. Anything which Aquapoint can do, to help raise money for this much needed ambulance, we will!"

MONKS CROSS SHOPPING CENTRE have pledged to continuing fund raising for the Appeal into 2004. Katherine Hague, the Centre Manager said, in response to the total of £2,585.00 which Monks Cross raised during 2003: "This is a fantastic total - let's make sure Monks Cross can make it £3,000 in 2004!"
Monks Cross Shopping Centre are also committed to creating a Joshua Scarlett-Abbott Memorial Garden on the site and we'll keep you up-to-date with its progress.

HAIR CUT - Nick Thompson, a teacher of music at Josh's school, Langton Primary School, had his hair cut off in a bid to raise funds for the charity. He raised over £550!

SPONSORED BIKE RIDE - The York RUFC Youth Section donated half the proceeds of the annual sponsored bike ride to Joshua's Appeal again this year. The bike ride was held on Sunday 18 April 2004, and many of Josh's team mates took part.

COAST TO COAST BIKE RIDE - Ralf Defty, who knew Josh well, and other keen mountain bikers took part in a sponsored Coast to Coast bike ride. One of the team was actually injured during training for the ride, but recovered to take part in the successful event. The ride raised over £700! - a big thank you to all those who took part.

STEVE BOTTRILL AND NICK SALTMER took part in the Great North Run and raised over £690.00 between them. Steve said "the run was hard but I think Josh helped me out - 2hrs 9 mins, not bad for an old timer! I survived, and I was proud that I could do it for the Appeal".

RON RYMER sadly died in late 2003. Ron, who also had cancer, followed Joshua's progress during his own brave fight. Following Ron's death, his family and friends, including the white water canoeing community and members of West Yorkshire Canoe Club, helped to raise over £430.00 for the Appeal following collections and events.

RYEDALE SWIMMING POOL in Malton, where Josh learnt to swim, helped raise £72.23 for the Appeal, through donations made by swimmers at the pool.
